Hello again, everyone! Starting Sunday, April 1, 2012, there will be a new detour to get to our building. Please see the map below. They are closing E. Highland on the railroad tracks, just to the east of our driveway (Empire Pkwy) and Fun ‘N Stuff’s driveway. Please see the detour below — it’ll show you the best route to get to us from the east. E. Highland Is Open! (For Now)

Great news, everyone — E. Highland is now open to traffic in both directions! The area affected by the water main break a few weeks ago has been repaired and we can now be accessed from the Route 8 side of Highland Road.

Please note that E. Highland is scheduled to be closed for approximately two months at the railroad tracks just east of us, so you will need to use a detour to access us as we will be closed from access from the east. Thanks!

E. Highland Closed to Through Traffic

Hey everyone! If you need to come to the store, E. Highland is now open in both directions (from Route 8 and Valley View) to local traffic only. If you’re coming from Route 8, please be careful as only one lane is open due to the large “ROAD CLOSED” signs blocking where the road buckled due to the water main break earlier this week.

Update (July 1): Highland is now closed again from Route 8. In order to visit us, you’ll have to take the detour: Left on S. Bedford Road, Right on Route 82, Right on Valley View Road and then a Right on E. Highland Road.

Grass & Construction

The grass-growing process has already begun — soon our front yard will compare to others in our Highland Road neighborhood of businesses. Because of the major construction of the sign and repair of our irrigation/sprinkler system, the front yard had to be torn up and grass replanted. Here’s some pictures of the front yard right now.

As mentioned before, you’ll notice the construction on our road. Here are some updated pictures so you know what to look for. Please note that E. Highland will be closed on both directions at the triple railroad tracks beginning in the coming week and will be closed for approximately 2 months (60 days). We’ll let you know as soon as we can when it will be closed and when it will reopen!

Well, we’ve had exciting things to celebrate and share about and we’d like to start our first news/blog post by keeping everyone up to date on what’s happening here at Sohar’s. So first I would like to say, “welcome to the family!” and then invite you to continue back here to catch up on what’s happening with the Sohar’s gang.

Our New Sign

Well, here it is! If you’ve driven down E. Highland in the past month and a half, you’ve probably noticed our latest front landscape addition — a new sign! The new sign features a dynamic LED portion so that we can keep you up to date with financing, equipment and parts specials.

30th Anniversary

This year marks our 30th year of business! We’d like to say “thank you” to all of our loyal customers who have helped us get to where we are today. We’d like to be your local outdoor power equipment store for another 30!

Construction!

If you’ve been on Highland Road in the past few weeks, I’m sure you’ve seen the bright orange construction signs and barrels — construction has officially started on E. Highland as the road crews make preparations for a widening at Empire Parkway as well as a future bridge that will be built over the triple railroad tracks very close to our business. The road narrows from 3 lanes (with a center turn lane) to a 2-lane road right before our entrance, so please take it slow and be very careful when leaving as the construction has condensed the traffic flow into two lanes which makes it very difficult to get onto Highland during busy times.
